"Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world". Every time we say -or sing- those words at mass, let's remember that we are quoting John the Baptist. 

 

The last prophet who was sent to baptize with water is now pointing to the man who will baptize with the Holy Spirit. Twice he said he didn't know him, but also that although he was coming after him he ranked ahead of him because he existed before him. And he testifies that this man walking toward him is the Son of God. No less ! An extraordinary revelation in which the Son of God and the Holy Spirit who do not belong to time enter our history.
